Installation of Stainless Steel Blow Dryer System Drying Systems

Welcome!  Yes, we will install your new purchase of the Stainless Steel Blow Dryer System Drying System for an additional charge.  There are a few things that you and we need to know prior to installing your new blow dryer however.  You are welcome to print this sheet off and use it as guide when making a purchase of our Stainless Steel Blow Dryer System Blow drying systems.  Many browsers support this -  right click on your mouse and choose "print" - or use your browser's default print button while this page is "active" - Active means it is the last page you clicked on and the title bar will be a stronger color than any other page you may have open.

An adequate electrical service and the electrical hookup should be done by a licensed electrician per local code.  This is the buyer's responsibility.

Properly sized electrical service needs to be in place before our installers arrive and the electrician scheduled for hook up upon installation date.

We need to know which side your equipment room is on, so the blow junction box and disconnect box which are supplied, can be placed on the proper side of the blow dryer.

All motors are pre-wired in liquid-tite conduit to a stainless steel junction box on the blowdryer frame.

Remote wall mount stainless steel electrical disconnect box sized appropriately for each drying system with all motor starters, overload, delay timers, disconnects and branch circuit protection pre-wired at no additional charge. (Can be shipped ahead to speed up installation)

We need to know what your 3 Phase Voltage is    208         220     230       240          440      460

Before purchasing a blow dryer it is the buyers responsibility to make sure they have a large enough Electrical Service to support a blow dryer and the carwash.  Blow Dryer motors are "step started".  We will be happy to Figure the amp draw for you - but here is a list of the motor needs.

Small rocker motor for oscillation - 1-3 Amps @ 230/3 Phase

10 HP Motors

  • 10 HP motor requires 24 Amp Draw @230/3 Phase
  • 10 HP motor requires 12 Amp Draw @460/3 Phase

15 HP Motors

  • 15 HP motor requires 36 Amp Draw @230/3 Phase
  • 15 HP motor requires 18 Amp Draw @460/3 Phase

Start up of blow dryer can be done in several ways:
  • The most common start up of a blow dryer is a 24 volt or 120 volt signal (pulse)  given from the car wash's computer. This option is standard on many car wash computers.  Although some carwash manufacturer's have this pulse and the option to use it, they require the carwash owner to purchase the option to use this feature separately to accommodate a blow dryer's start up.   While some manufacture's give the pulse to start the blower, not all include a pulse to stop the blower.
  • A road switch may be purchased from us to start the blow dryer (24" or 36")
  • Other options available upon request.

Stopping the Blow Dryer
  • Some car wash manufacturer's send a pulse from their computer to stop the blower but even if they send a pulse to start the blower - don't assume they send a pulse to stop the blower - check with your car wash manufacturer.
  • A timer can be added directly to the blower to run for a certain length of time.

It is the owner's responsibility to have a fork lift and fork lift operator available for the unloading and set of the blow dryer at time of installation.

Installation fee covers travel expense and no more than 2 days on site of installation.  If installation goes over the 2 days for any reason, additional charges of $70.00 per hour will be added to final bill.  This includes delays due to not having electrician available or waiting for electrical to be done. (Most of the electrical should have been done prior to our installers arriving on site.)

Buyer should not attempt to unload blow dryer from carrier - If we install the blow dryer, we will be there to unload it.  This is in case of damage during shipment caused by carrier.

Buyer may elect to install the blow dryer themselves - all necessary specifications and instructions will be given to buyer.
